Varian (NYSE: VAR) today announced that Proton Therapy Pte. Ltd. has placed an order for a Halcyon system, making them the first to bring this innovative treatment platform into Singapore, with the aim of treating the first patient by the end of the year.

This talk will discuss on molecular imaging with positron emission tomography
(PET) and the new advanced MRI techniques, which permit noninvasive tumour
characterization, and a more targeted therapeutic approach, with the goal
of ultimately improving prognosis. While MRI remains the mainstay technique
for brain tumoursimaging, PET complements MRI in addressing those questions
that remain unanswered, such as lesion grading, tumour extent delineation and
treatment response evaluation, amongst the many.
