Dr Adam Holtzman
Radiation Oncologist

Dr Adam Holtzman speaking in Proton Therapy SG webinar

Dr. Adam Holtzman is a board-certified radiation oncologist with expertise in head and neck and skull-base tumors. Dr. Holtzman received his BS and MD at the University of Florida (UF), where he completed the accelerated combined undergraduate and medical school honors program. He continued his post-graduate residency at UF and then as faculty at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute before joining Mayo Clinic Florida. His primary research interest is in clinical trials and advanced radiotherapy techniques, including particle therapy. He has led several studies investigating and establishing the efficacy and safety for high-dose conformal particle therapy.

Dr Patricia Kho – Senior medical oncologist Icon Cancer Centre

With over 20 years of experience, Dr Patricia Kho is an experienced medical oncologist who is practicing at Mount Elizabeth Novena, Gleneagles and Mount Alvernia Hospital, Singapore. She has subspecialty interests in lung, head and neck, breast and gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr Kho graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and worked at the National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore before continuing her specialist postgraduate training in Medical Oncology at the Sydney Cancer Centre, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, (now known as Chris O’brien Lifehouse) under the mentorship of Prof Michael Boyer, Prof Stephen Clarke and Prof Alan Coates. She obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2003.
Her interest in translational research in search of personalised cancer treatments, led her to work at Genome Institute of Singapore under Prof Edison Liu from 2002 to 2003. She subsequently obtained a Master of Philosophy (Medicine) from the University of Sydney with a research thesis entitled “Optimising Adjuvant Treatment for Colorectal Cancer”.

Dr Kho returned to Sydney in 2005 and was appointed Head of the Department of Medical Oncology in Liverpool Hospital, a public teaching university hospital in Sydney. She was also the Director of the Clinical Trials unit, Clinical lecturer of University of New South Wales and a visiting scientist at the Garvan Institute of Research in Sydney.

Dr Tay Ze Yun – Head and neck, ENT surgeon

Dr Tay Ze Yun is an Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) Head & Neck Surgeon, currently practicing at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore. He manages all general ENT conditions with special interest in head and neck masses and cancers, as well as nose and sinus conditions, sleep apnea surgery.

Dr Tay graduated from the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2008. He subsequently joined the Singhealth Otolaryngology Residency Programme and completed his specialist training in 2016.

In pursue of his passion in Head and Neck Surgery, he completed the two-year Singhealth Duke- NUS Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Fellowship program (2016 – 2018), organized by the Singhealth Duke-NUS Head and Neck Disease Centre, a tertiary centre that provides multidisciplinary care of patients with complex head and neck conditions

He was subsequently awarded the MOH Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) award in 2018 to pursue a surgical fellowship in advanced head and neck surgical oncology at the world-renown Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. During this fellowship, Dr Tay spent majority of the time participating in surgeries for complex head and neck conditions, and also had the opportunity to hone his research in the field. Following his overseas training, Dr Tay also completed the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies (IFHNOS) fellowship and graduated with Honors in 2020.

Prior to private practice, he served as Consultant ENT- Head and Neck surgeon with the respective ENT departments at both Sengkang General Hospital and Singapore General Hospital. He was also concurrently the service chief of Singhealth Duke-NUS Head & Neck Centre for SKH, leading a multidisciplinary team for the provision and development of the sub-specialty services at the site.
