Singapore Institute of Advanced Medicine Hosts Day 1 of SPOT Contouring Conference 2026

Today, 6 November 2026, the Singapore Institute of Advanced Medicine (SAM) had the privilege of welcoming oncology professionals from across the region as the host venue for Day 1 of the SPOT Contouring Conference 2026, held at our facility in Biopolis.

Organised by The School of Clinical Oncology, with scientific programming by National University Cancer Institute Singapore (NCIS) and Asian Alliance Radiation Oncology (AARO), and supported by the Singapore Radiological Society (SRS), this two-day conference focuses on advancing radiation oncology excellence in Asia. The event brings together clinical experts, radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapists to examine proton and photon therapy techniques across CNS, prostate, and head & neck cancers.

Highlights from Day 1 at Biopolis

We were delighted to have our own Ms. Alexa Tan Xiao Wei, Head Radiation Therapist at Proton Therapy SG, deliver a presentation during the afternoon session. Her talk, “What the Plan Doesn’t Show: An RTT Perspective,” shared practical operational insights from the therapy team’s perspective.

Following the academic sessions, delegates were given an exclusive tour of our Proton Therapy SG centre.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our team to connect with fellow healthcare professionals and showcase our state-of-the-art facility.

Looking Ahead to Day 2

The conference moves to the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital for Day 2 tomorrow, 7 November 2026.

Our team continues to contribute to the scientific exchange tomorrow with presentations from:

  • Dr. Shaun Ho, Medical Director and Senior Consultant Radiation Oncologist

  • Dr. Rachel Lin, Medical Physicist

  • Ms. Alexa Tan Xiao Wei, Head Radiation Therapist

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the event organizer, The School of Clinical Oncology, along with National University Cancer Institute Singapore (NCIS) and Asian Alliance Radiation Oncology (AARO) for the scientific programming, and the Singapore Radiological Society (SRS) for their support in making Day 1 such a success!
